In early 2021, after suffering three miscarriages, a young woman named Camille had her first manic episode and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and admitted to a psychiatric unit. She is now eight months pregnant and prepares herself to welcome her child into the world. However, childbirth is a particularly risky period for women with bipolar disorder, as they are at a much higher risk of postpartum psychosis or depression. We follow Camille and her partner Evan both before and after the birth of their child, Elie, and explore how they deal with her bipolar disorder whilst settling into a new life as first time parents.
